Elections in Ukraine to mark disgraceful end of Zelensky regime — senior Russian MP

According to the Russian lawmaker, the new US administration’s stance concerning presidential elections in Ukraine has made Kiev very nervous

MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. The presidential election in Ukraine will mark the disgraceful end of the Vladimir Zelensky government, and show its European sponsors for what they truly are, a senior Russian lawmaker said.

"For Zelensky’s expired regime, holding elections will bring this bloody mess to an inglorious and irreversible conclusion. And not only for the Zelensky junta. The European sponsors of the illegitimate puppet, who are propagating Russophobia and an endless war, will be shone in a most unflattering light as well," Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the international committee of Russia’s State Duma, or lower house of parliament, and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to the Russian lawmaker, the new US administration’s stance concerning presidential elections in Ukraine has made Kiev very nervous.

"It has turned out that ‘democratic Ukraine, and to be more precise, ‘the freedom-loving Kiev elite,’ is against elections, against any free expression of will and, hence, against true democracy and the legitimation of power. This is the ultimate self-exposure of a regime that uses ‘democratic values and freedoms’ as a fig leaf to hide their war crimes against the Russian world and the extermination of Ukrainians," he added.
