MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. Air defenses downed 70 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight, the Defense Ministry said.
The fall of drone debris caused a fire in the Astrakhan Region. The fallen drone debris also resulted in localized fires on the territory of an oil refinery in the Volgograd Region.

- Air defenses destroyed and intercepted 70 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight, the Defense Ministry said.
- According to the ministry, 27 drones were downed over the Rostov Region, 25 over the Volgograd Region, seven over the Astrakhan Region, five over the Voronezh Region, four over the Belgorod Region, and two over the Kursk Region.
Consequences
- The fall of the drone caused a fire in the Astrakhan Region. There were no casualties, Govenor Igor Babushkin said.
- In the Volgograd Region, the fall of the drone caused several small fires at an oil refinery. They were promptly localized, Governor Andrey Bocharov said.
Operation of airports
- Temporary restrictions were imposed at the airports of Astrakhan, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Saratov and Ulyanovsk, the press service of Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) said. They were later lifted.
- The restrictions are currently in effect at Vladikavkaz, Grozny and Makhachkala airports.
