MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. Russian troops have been broadening the bridgehead located on the right bank of the Oskol River in the Kharkov Region, while Ukraine has noticeably diminished its resistance in the area, Colonel Vitaly Kiselyov, a military expert from Donbass, told the Solovyov Live TV channel.
"On the right bank of the Oskol, we are enhancing our foothold: moving to the northwest direction. <…> The enemy’s attempts to retain their positions there are not the same as, for instance, three or four months, half a year ago, when we could not even approach the Oskol River. Today, we have surpassed it," he said.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on January 22 the Battlegroup West securing the settlement of Zapadnoye, which is located some three kilometers from the right bank of the Oskol River.
