Russia says it carried out 38 strikes with high-precision weapons over past week

Russia’s Battlegroup West has repelled 25 Ukrainian counterattacks over the past week, wiping out over 3,080 enemy servicemen and destroying a German-made Leopard tank

MOSCOW, December 27. /TASS/. The Russian armed forces have carried out one massive strike and 37 group strikes on Ukrainian energy sites and other targets with high-precision weapons and drones over the past week, the Defense Ministry said in a daily bulletin of the special military operation.

"From December 21 to 27, Russia’s Armed Forces carried out one massive strike and 37 group strikes with high-accuracy weapons and strike drones. The following targets were hit: energy facilities that maintained the operation of enterprises of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, the infrastructure of military airfields, ammunition depots, fuel storages, strike drones production workshops, storage sites, places of storage, and launch preparations, as well as drone operator training centers. Temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian military units, nationalist groups and foreign mercenaries were also hit," the ministry said.

Here are the details of other combat operations that happened over the past week, according to the bulletin.

Liberated settlements

Russian servicemen have liberated seven settlements in the special military operation zone over the past week.

According to the ministry, the Russian armed forces liberated Zagryzovo in the Kharkov Region; and Ivanovka, Gigant, Ostrovskoye, Krasnoye, Novy Trud and Storozhevoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Battlegroup North

Ukraine’s armed forces sustained more than 2,450 casualties from actions by Russia’s Battlegroup North over the past week.

The enemy’s losses included 11 tanks, 13 infantry fighting vehicles, 13 armored personnel carriers, and 44 armored combat vehicles. Also, 69 motor vehicles, 25 field artillery guns and nine electronic warfare systems were taken out.

Battlegroup West

Russia’s Battlegroup West has repelled 25 Ukrainian counterattacks over the past week, wiping out over 3,080 enemy servicemen and destroying a German-made Leopard tank.

"Russian servicemen repelled 25 Ukrainian counterattacks. The enemy lost more than 3,080 servicemen, three tanks, including a German-made Leopard, three armored personnel carriers, including two US-made M113, 38 vehicles and 53 field artillery guns, of which 24 are of Western-made," the ministry said, adding that the Russian armed forces also destroyed "eight electronic warfare stations and four field ammunition depots."

Battlegroup South

Russia’s Battlegroup South inflicted more than 1,970 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed 22 enemy artillery guns in its area of responsibility.

Battlegroup South units "inflicted casualties on formations of four mechanized brigades, a motorized infantry brigade, a mountain assault brigade, two assault brigades and two airmobile brigades of the Ukrainian army and two territorial defense brigades," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army lost more than 1,970 personnel, 3 armored personnel carriers, including a British-made Spartan armored vehicle and a US-manufactured M113 troop carrier, 3 armored combat vehicles, 13 motor vehicles and 22 field artillery guns, among them 7 US-made weapons in that frontline area over the week.

In addition, Russian troops destroyed eight ammunition depots of the Ukrainian army.

Battlegroup Center

The Ukrainian armed forces lost more than 3,815 military personnel and six tanks, including Leopards, over the past week in the responsibility zone of Russia’s Battlegroup Center.

"Units of the Battlegroup Center <…> defeated units of seven mechanized and two motorized infantry brigades, an assault brigade, an infantry brigade, two chaser infantry brigades, two marine brigades, two territorial defense brigades, two National Guard brigades and an assault brigade of the Ukrainian National Police. They repelled 76 enemy counterattacks. The Ukrainian armed formations lost more than 3,815 servicemen and six tanks, including German-made Leopard tanks," the ministry said.

The enemy also lost six infantry fighting vehicles, seven armored personnel carriers, including M1117 and four US-made M113, and 11 other armored combat vehicles, including five Western-made ones. In addition, 42 vehicles and 26 pieces of Ukrainian field artillery were destroyed.

Battlegroup Dnepr

The Ukrainian armed forces have lost up to 455 troops and three field munitions depots in one week due to actions by Russia’s Battlegroup Dnepr.

"Ukrainian losses amounted up to 455 troops, 22 motor vehicles and 16 field artillery guns. Eight electronic warfare stations and three field munitions depots have been wiped out," the ministry said.

Over the past week, the battlegroup improved its frontline positions and delivered strikes on personnel and hardware from Ukrainian mechanized, infantry, mountain assault and air assault brigades and three territorial defense brigades.

"Over the week, 51 Ukrainian soldiers have been captured on the frontline," the ministry said.

Air Force and air defenses

Russian air defense means have shot down four UK-made Storm Shadow missiles, two French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs and 496 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the week.

"Air defense forces shot down four UK-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles, a Neptune long-range guided missile, two French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs, 31 US-made HIMARS rockets and 496 fixed-wing UAVs," the ministry said.

Tally of destroyed equipment

Since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed a total of 650 Ukrainian warplanes, 283 helicopters, 38,648 unmanned aerial vehicles, 590 surface-to-air missile systems, 20,057 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,504 multiple launch rocket systems, 20,043 field artillery guns and mortars and 29,584 special military motor vehicles.
