MELITOPOL, December 12. /TASS/. Russian troops have improved their frontline positions in the town of Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) as they occupied several high-rise buildings during the fighting there, Chairman of the Civic Chamber Commission on Sovereignty, Patriotic Projects, and Support of Veterans Vladimir Rogov told TASS.

"Russian troops have improved their positions and advanced in Kurakhovo as they occupied several high-rise buildings there. There is fighting near the town hall building but Ukrainian forces still control it," the official said.

Earlier, Rogov told TASS that Russian forces had reached the town council building, which is located in the western part of Kurakhovo as Ukrainian units had partially retreated to an industrial area.
