Russia does not interfere in Georgia's affairs, as does West — Foreign Ministry

Russia primarily focuses on developing trade, economic, and humanitarian ties with this country, with whose people we share a common history, culture, and close personal connections, Maria Zakharova said at a briefing

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Russia firmly rejects accusations of interference in Georgia's affairs coming from the Georgian opposition, it is the West's habit, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.

"These accusations are entirely unfounded, and we categorically reject them," the diplomat stated in response to the allegations against Russia. "I would like to remind those making such claims that we have no diplomatic relations with Georgia. Russia primarily focuses on developing trade, economic, and humanitarian ties with this country, with whose people we share a common history, culture, and close personal connections," Zakharova added.

"Meanwhile, we do not interfere in other countries' domestic affairs, that is what the West does," Zakharova emphasized.
