MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian geologists and veterans of the industry with the Geologist’s Day, noting that dozens of new mineral resource deposits were discovered last year.
"Today, the sector is facing large-scale and pressing tasks, the efficient resolution of which will largely determine the country’s socioeconomic development, the strengthening of its industrial, energy and defense potential, as well as and the enhancement of people’s quality of life. I want to emphasize that we have much to be proud of. In 2023 alone, dozens of new mineral deposits were discovered, facilitating the production of essential strategic mineral resources. Moreover, we are actively engaged in ambitious projects in the Arctic and on the continental shelf," the head of state said in the telegram posted on the Kremlin’s website.
This professional holiday is celebrated by prospectors and scientists, engineers and miners, lecturers at specialized educational institutions and representatives of many other trades, Putin stressed.
"All of you share a dedication to your chosen professions, a commitment to the wonderful traditions of your predecessors, who were bold trailblazers, and a sincere aspiration to work for the benefit of Russia and its people," the President noted.
Putin expressed confidence that geologists will continue working and achieving maximum possible results, prioritizing the widespread adoption of energy-saving and environmentally friendly technologies, setting ambitious objectives and achieving success.
