ST. PETERSBURG, March 18. /TASS/. Voter turnout in the Russian presidential election in St. Petersburg has amounted to 74.38% after 100% of the ballots were counted, with 81.65% of St. Petersburg residents voting for Vladimir Putin, the head of the city election commission said.

"100% of the ballots have been processed in St. Petersburg. According to the results, the turnout is 74.38%. After the votes were counted, it became evident that Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin won. A total of 81.65% of St. Petersburg residents voted for him," Maxim Meiksin, the head of the city election commission, wrote on his Telegram channel.

He also added that after all the votes were counted, Vladislav Davankov came in second with 6.99% of the vote, Leonid Slutsky came in third with 5.15% of the vote, and Nikolay Kharitonov came in fourth with 3.49%.

A total of 3,816,980 St. Petersburg residents are eligible to vote. At the 2018 presidential election, the turnout in St. Petersburg amounted to 63.87%.

Russia held its first three-day presidential election over the period March 15-17. Remote electronic voting, also a first, was available to voters in 29, or about one-third, of the country’s regions. Four candidates vied for the top office, namely Vladislav Davankov, Vladimir Putin, Leonid Slutsky and Nikolay Kharitonov.
