Russian troops carry out night raid on right bank of Dnieper River — governor

The Ukrainian army’s losses amounted to 30 troops, Vladimir Saldo specified

GENICHESK, March 13. /TASS/. A Russian assault group destroyed a Ukrainian UAV control post and an electronic warfare station in a night raid on the Kiev-controlled right bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson Region, Governor Vladimir Saldo said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.

"Last night, a joint assault group of fighters from the Dnepr Battlegroup carried out an audacious raid into the right bank of the river. Marine infantry personnel, paratroopers and volunteers disembarked from watercraft at the foot of the Antonovka Bridge. The surprise effect disabled the enemy to react timely. Our fighters destroyed several enemy positions, including an UAV control post and an electronic warfare station, observation, communications and manpower temporary amassment sites," he said.

The Ukrainian army’s losses amounted to 30 troops, he specified.

"Our fighters returned to the left bank without irretrievable losses," the governor specified.

The Russian assault force disembarked at the place where Soviet soldiers commanded by Vasily Margelov seized the first bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper River in 1944, which was key to breaching Nazi Germany’s defenses, Saldo said.
