Russia has no intentions of assassinating Ukraine’s Zelensky — Russia’s UN envoy

"If some of you hope to get rid of the leader of the Kiev regime in this way, I should disappoint you: this is not in our plans," Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky said

UN, March 9. /TASS/. Russia has no intentions of assassinating Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky said.

"Do you really think that if we wanted to hit Zelensky's motorcade, we would not be able to do it? Try to answer this question, but be honest," Polyansky said speaking at the UN Security Council session on Ukraine.

"Particularly considering that you all well know that a similar hit [on military facilities in Odessa] destroyed a production center manufacturing naval drones, assembling them from UK-supplied components," he continued.

"That target was much more important for us if compared to Zelensky, who keeps wandering along the frontline zone taking selfies in cities before they are liberated by Russian troops," Polyansky noted.

"If some of you hope to get rid of the leader of the Kiev regime in this way, I should disappoint you: this is not in our plans," the Russian diplomat added.
