HAVANA, February 28. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev met in Managua with Nicaraguan presidential envoy Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo, the sides discussed intensification of cooperation in the sphere of cybersecurity and the work of law enforcement agencies.
"In Managua, Nikolay Patrushev held talks with Nicaraguan Presidential Special Representative for Russian Affairs Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo. There was a substantive discussion of key issues of Russian-Nicaraguan cooperation in the security sphere. In particular, the sides discussed plans to intensify cooperation between the two countries in the field of detection, prevention and elimination of consequences of computer attacks," the press service of the Russian Security Council reported.
The sides paid attention to the issue of expanding the activities of the Russian Interior Ministry’s training center in Managua, as well as deepening cooperation between law enforcement agencies and special services. In addition, they discussed the issues of cooperation in the economic sphere under the conditions of sanctions pressure.
