Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who has declared his intention to hand over his so-called "peace plan" to Russia, in reality means an ultimatum, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a news conference following talks with Yemeni Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak.

"He [Zelensky] said that this [handover of a ‘peace plan’ to Russia] will not be considered as negotiations, but anyone in his right mind knows that what he has in mind is an ultimatum. His entire 10-point formula has been and still remains an obvious ultimatum. They are trying to lure as many countries as possible to various events to discuss this sheet of paper," Lavrov said.

In his opinion, Europe advises Zelensky to gather as many countries as possible to discuss his "peace formula" and take "family photos" to create an impression of their support.

"And the more people there are in this photo, the more convincing, as they think, will be the argument Russia challenges the whole of progressive humanity," Lavrov said. "It's funny. This obsession with photos has long been present in Western politics as a means of dissuading our partners in the world majority countries to cooperate with Russia."

The way he sees it, the West’s basic approach to the Ukrainian settlement is an "absolutely deadlock."
