London openly pushes Kiev to attack facilities deep in Russia — diplomat

Maria Zakharova reiterated statements by the UK Ministry of Defense that London and Riga will lead "a drone coalition"

MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. The United Kingdom is openly pushing Ukraine to strike targets deep in Russian territory, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"On February 19, we learned that Russian forces downed a UK-designed Banshee Jet 80+ drone near the Donetsk People’s Republic’s Novoazovsk. London is openly pushing the Ukrainian neo-Nazis to strike facilities deep in Russian territory. However, <…> their plans will fail. Our armed forces will give a suitable response," the diplomat said.

Zakharova reiterated statements by the UK Ministry of Defense that London and Riga will lead "a drone coalition." "It seems that London can't wait to further escalate the conflict," she added.

According to the diplomat, plans were announced to deliver "thousands" of drones to Kiev. "Toward this end, the British plan to spend about 200 mln pounds from a 2.5-bln package which on January 12, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak promised to [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky for the needs of the Ukrainian army," she pointed out.
