MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military fired about 90 shells at communities in Russia’s Belgorod Region bordering Ukraine and carried out several drone attacks over the past day, damaging seven homes, three cars and a power transmission line, Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel on Tuesday.
"In the Belgorodsky district, 30 artillery shells were fired at the village of Zhuravlyovka and 22 artillery shells at the Nekhoteyevka automobile border checkpoint. An UAV [unmanned aerial vehicle] dropped eight improvised explosives in the village of Naumovka and one explosive in the village of Shchetinovka. There are no casualties or destruction in these settlements," the governor said.
A Ukrainian air attack repulsed by Russian air defense forces damaged a private home in the Tavrovsky rural settlement of the Belgorodsky district, a car in the Dubovsky rural settlement and a car in the Razumensky rural community, he said.
In the Borisovsky district, the outskirts of the village of Gruzskoye came under artillery fire, with six shells hitting the area. The Ukrainian military also dropped two explosives from a quadcopter on the outskirts of the village of Bogun-Gorodok and attacked the outskirts of the village of Lozovaya Rudka with two kamikaze drones, the governor said.
In the Volokonovsky district, the Ukrainian army fired five mortar rounds at the village of Tishanka, he said.
"Two private homes were damaged: windows were smashed, the gates, the fence and a summer kitchen splintered. Electric power transmission lines were also damaged. Power supply has been restored by now," the governor said.
In the Graivoronsky district, the village of Zarechye-Pervoye came under mortar fire, with seven shells hitting the area and damage reported in four private homes: facades, the roofing and fences splintered and windows were smashed. In the village of Mokraya Orlovka, a Ukrainian kamikaze drone attacked a communications infrastructural facility, in the village of Novostroyevka Vtoraya, a drone dropped an improvised explosive on a car and also 12 mortar rounds were fired at the outskirts of the village of Spodaryushino, he said.
In the Krasnoyaruzhsky district, the area between the villages of Vyazovoye and Kolotilovka came under mortar fire, with four mortar rounds hitting the area. The Ukrainian military also fired three mortar rounds at the outskirts of the village of Terebreno, the governor said.
In the Prokhorovsky district, Russian army engineers found and destroyed a kamikaze drone in the field near the village of Podolkha while emergency services discovered and eliminated an enemy kamikaze drone in the field near the village of Voskresenovka in the Chernyansky district, he added.
"In the Shebekino urban district, a Ukrainian drone dropped an explosive on the village of Murom. There are no casualties or destruction," the governor said.
