Russian, North Korean foreign ministers to brief Putin on outcome of their talks — Kremlin

Dmitry Peskov clarified that the meeting is expected to take place in the evening

MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his North Korean counterpart, Choe Son Hui, will brief Russian President Vladimir Putin today on the results of their talks, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Today, North Korean Foreign Minister [Choe Son Hui] and Russian Foreign Minister [Sergey] Lavrov will brief the president on the results of the talks, on how the discussions went, <...> as a follow-up to the agreements that were reached by the heads of state in the Russian Far East recently," the Kremlin spokesman said.

He clarified that the meeting is expected to take place in the evening. "Now the ministers will take action. They need to work out [agreements] first, then they will inform the head of state," Peskov explained.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited Russia in September 2023. He held talks with Putin at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Amur Region in Russia’s Far East, during which Kim invited Putin to pay a return visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
