CIS countries to step up joint efforts to combat epidemics

"In the field of health care, efforts will be aimed at increasing cooperation in the work against socially significant diseases and infectious diseases, including taking into account the experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic," the concept says

MOSCOW, January 1. /TASS/. The practice of joint countermeasures against epidemiological challenges will continue in the CIS, according to the just-published concept of Russia's chairmanship of the Commonwealth in 2024.

"In the field of health care, efforts will be aimed at increasing cooperation in the work against socially significant diseases and infectious diseases, including taking into account the experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic. Efforts will go on to form a common epidemiological space of the CIS member states, enhance the ability to prevent, detect and respond to outbreaks of infectious diseases in order to timely react to emergencies of sanitary and epidemiological nature," the concept says.
