Number of Western businesses recruit mercenaries for Ukraine, says Russian envoy

To Rodion Miroshnik, the key violation here is that Ukrainian diplomatic missions "are engaged in this activity in full" which, he insists, is "incompatible with diplomatic work"

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. A number of Western companies have been recruiting foreign mercenaries to take part in the hostilities in Ukraine, Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for the crimes of the Kiev regime, said at a briefing.

"In violation of all existing norms, Ukraine has been recruiting militants across the globe, using its diplomatic and consular offices. They establish relations with recruiting companies and individual militants who <...> offer contracts to fight on Ukrainian soil," he said referring to specific providers of these services.

To Miroshnik, the key violation here is that Ukrainian diplomatic missions "are engaged in this activity in full" which, he insists, is "incompatible with diplomatic work."

"Unfortunately, there are a number of countries which have been turning a blind eye to such illegitimate activities on the part of Ukraine," the diplomat said as he added that Russia has raised the issue at a range of international venues with a view to receiving a legal assessment of such Ukrainian actions.
