Russian diplomat praises Qatar’s mediation toward peace between Palestine, Israel

MOSCOW, November 11. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, who also serves as Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Syria, highly praised Qatar’s efforts as a mediator in resolving the latest escalation between Palestine and Israel at a meeting in Moscow with Qatari Ambassador to Moscow, Ahmed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani.

The two diplomats held a detailed discussion of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as they focused on the crisis being faced by the Gaza Strip. During the discussion, "the Russian side lauded Qatar’s efforts as a mediator toward resolving a slew of socio-economic and humanitarian issues that resulted from this unprecedented crisis," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The diplomats also discussed efforts to develop further the traditionally friendly relationship between Russia and Qatar, including maintaining a dynamic political dialogue and the schedule of forthcoming bilateral meetings, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
