Strike on Donetsk, other similar crimes prove that special op was justified – diplomat

According to the Russian permanent representative to the UN, Moscow has no other way to stop Kyiv

UNITED NATIONS, November 9. /TASS/. Crimes regularly committed by the Kiev government, including the latest strike on Donetsk, prove that Russia’s decision to launch its special military operation in Ukraine was justified, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya told the UN Security Council.

"Every such crime committed by the Kiev regime validates our decision to start a special military operation, which was taken against the backdrop of increased shelling of the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics in early 2022. There is no other way left to stop the Kiev punishers," he said during a Security Council meeting, which convened at Russia’s initiative in connection with Tuesday’s deadly strike on Donetsk.

"There are no military facilities at the sites of yesterday's strikes; this is the center of a large city. The Kiev regime and its Western sponsors are well aware of this," Nebenzya added.

Forces of the Kiev government delivered large-scale attacks on the city center of Donetsk on the afternoon of November 7, using HIMARS systems. The attack left six people dead, including a driver of an ambulance vehicle. 55 people were injured. Ukrainian projectiles hit the building of the Department of Labor and Social Protection.
