Russia calls on Hamas to immediately release all hostages — Kremlin spokesman

Dmitry Peskov also said Russia does not yet have precise information about how and when the Russians might be freed

MOSCOW, October 24. /TASS/. Russia calls on Hamas to immediately release all hostages, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"All hostages must be released urgently, immediately. That is our firm position. We certainly call on Hamas to make sure that all hostages are released," he said.

He said Moscow is using all opportunities to negotiate the release of Russian citizens from Hamas captivity "with all sides involved in the conflict."

"Indeed, so far we have not succeeded [in securing the release of the hostages], but we will continue these efforts," Peskov said.

The spokesman also said Russia does not yet have precise information about how and when the Russians might be freed.

"We sympathize with all the family members and friends of these hostages and wish with all our heart that they return safe and sound," Peskov continued. "Of course, first and foremost we are worried about our fellow citizens."
