MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. The traditional series of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s defense meetings in May has not been scheduled yet, but these meetings will be organized if necessary, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Wednesday.
"There are currently no precise plans. If necessary, they will be scheduled, but they have not been yet," the spokesman said, answering a question from TASS if the traditional defense meetings in Sochi will take place this year.
Previously, the head of state used to gather top Defense Ministry management, heads of key military-industrial complex enterprises and their chief designers twice a year in Sochi. In 2019, this format was changed somewhat, with Putin visiting military facilities, and the entire meeting series dedicated to a certain branch of the Armed Forces. Last time, the development of the Russian Armed Forces was discussed in this format in November, 2021.
