MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday updated his Kazakh counterpart on how Moscow views the situation in Ukraine.

"We shared our updated vision of the developments as a project designed by the collective West to inflict a strategic blow on Russia," Lavrov said at a news conference following talks with Nurtleu, who is also Kazakhstan’s deputy prime minister.

According to Lavrov, Russia no longer sees any difference between the policies toward confrontation being pursued by Washington, Brussels, London or other capitals. "We proceed from the premise that any decisions that can be made must take into account fundamental Russian concerns in the field of security and ensure the legitimate rights of residents of the territories in question," the Russian foreign minister underscored.

He said Russia appreciated Kazakhstan’s balanced position on these issues as he pledged efforts to continue appropriate dialogue.
