Cuban president slams NATO’s encroachment on Russian borders

"We keep on condemning the anti-Russian sanctions and the sources of the current conflict so that people are not misled into blaming Russia," the Cuban president said

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. NATO’s expansion toward Russia’s borders is unacceptable and is one of the sources of the current global controversies, visiting Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.

"We understand that this conflict stems from the United States’ machinations <…>, you warned the world long ago that NATO’s expansion toward Russia’s borders is simply unacceptable and they tried to use extraterritorial wars, as they always do, to picture themselves as a rescuer capable of resolving every situation emerging in the world. We keep on condemning the anti-Russian sanctions and the sources of the current conflict so that people are not misled into blaming Russia," the Cuban president said, adding that Russia is also faced with the same position from Europe, "which is serving the United States’ interests."
