MOSCOW, October 6. /TASS/. Russian combat aircraft, missile and artillery troops struck eight Ukrainian army command posts in the past day in their special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Thursday.
"The strikes by operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops destroyed eight Ukrainian army command posts, 63 artillery units at firing positions, enemy manpower and military equipment in 173 areas," the spokesman said.
Russian troops also wiped out four ammunition and missile/artillery armament depots near the settlements of Seversk and Vodyanoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the city of Zaporozhye, the general said.
Russian forces thwarted the Ukrainian military’s attempt to advance in the Kupyansk area, killing over 120 militants, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Kupyansk area, the enemy made an unsuccessful attempt deploying up to three battalion tactical groups to resume the offensive towards Pershotravnevoye, Kislovka and Berestovoye. All the attacks were repelled by the decisive operations of the Russian troops. They killed over 120 Ukrainian militants and destroyed five tanks, 12 combat armored vehicles and 14 motor vehicles," the spokesman said.
Russian forces wiped out three Ukrainian army’s pontoon bridges across the Ingulets River by precision missile strikes, Konashenkov reported.
"Precision missile strikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces in the areas of the settlements of Velikoye Artakovo in the Nikolayev Region, Novogrigorovka and Belaya Krinitsa in the Kherson Region destroyed three Ukrainian army’s pontoon bridges across the Ingulets River," the spokesman said.
Russian air defense forces shot down nine Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and destroyed three Olkha rockets in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"The air defense capabilities destroyed nine Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Chervonoarmeyskoye, Dmitrenko and Charivnoye in the Kherson Region, Pokrovskoye, Poltava and Troitskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Orlinskoye and Mospino in the Donetsk People’s Republic. In addition, they shot down three shells of the Olkha multiple launch rocket system in the area of the settlement of Velikaya Novosyolka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
The Ukrainian military undertook no active combat operations in the area of the settlement of Krasny Liman, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Krasny Liman area, the Kiev regime’s military formations undertook no active combat operations," the spokesman said.
Russian artillery troops eliminated 25 Ukrainian militants, the general said.
"Russian artillery fire eliminated two Ukrainian subversive and reconnaissance groups in the area of the settlement of Petrovskoye in the Kharkov Region. Twenty-five militants and two pickup trucks with large-caliber machine-guns were destroyed," Konashenkov reported.
The Russia-Donbass allied forces liberated the settlement of Zaitsevo near the town of Artyomovsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic in the past day, eliminating over 120 militants of two Ukrainian army brigades, the spokesman said.
"In the Artyomovsk direction, the settlement of Zaitsevo was liberated as a result of offensive operations by the allied forces. Over 120 personnel of the Ukrainian army’s 58th motorized infantry and 128th mountain assault brigades and also three infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed," he said.
Fighter aircraft of Russia’s Aerospace Forces shot down a MiG-29 fighter and a Su-24 bomber of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Konashenkov reported.
"Fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down two planes of the Ukrainian Air Force: a MiG-29 near the settlement of Novogrodovka and a Su-24 near the community of Sviridonovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
Army aviation aircraft of Russia’s Aerospace Forces eliminated up to 60 Ukrainian militants and two tanks in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Konashenkov reported.
"In the area of the settlement of Noviy Komar in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the strikes by army aviation aircraft of Russia’s Aerospace Forces eliminated up to 60 personnel of the Ukrainian army’s 56th motorized infantry brigade, two tanks and five motor vehicles," the spokesman said.
Over 280 Ukrainian troops were destroyed as a result of missile and air strikes by Russia’s Aerospace Forces against three Ukrainian army brigades in the Kherson and Nikolayev Regions, Konashenkov reported.
"The missile and air strikes by Russia’s Aerospace Forces against the temporary deployment sites of the Ukrainian army’s 35th marine infantry brigade near the settlement of Davydov Brod in the Kherson Region, 46th air mobile brigade in the area of the settlement of Murakhovka in the Nikolayev Region and 60th infantry brigade near the communities of Trifonovka and Novaya Kamenka in the Kherson Region eliminated over 280 Ukrainian troops and nine pieces of military equipment," the spokesman said.
Russian troops destroyed two batteries of Ukrainian Grad multiple launch rocket systems in the Kharkov Region and the Donetsk People’s Republic in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In counter-battery warfare, two Ukrainian batteries of Grad multiple launch rocket systems were struck in the areas of the settlements of Dvurechnaya in the Kharkov Region and Karpovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
The Ukrainian military made numerous breakthrough attempts in the past day in the Andreyevka-Krivoi Rog area and was pushed back by Russian troops in all the directions, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Andreyevka-Krivoi Rog area, the enemy’s four battalion tactical groups made numerous attempts in the past day to break through our forces’ defenses towards the settlements of Dudchany, Sukhanovo, Sadok and Bruskinskoye. In all the directions, the enemy was pushed back from the defense line of the Russian troops," the spokesman said.
The Russian troops eliminated over 100 Ukrainian soldiers, six tanks, eight combat armored vehicles and nine motor vehicles, the general added.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 315 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 157 helicopters, 2,160 unmanned aerial vehicles, 379 surface-to-air missile systems, 5,412 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 862 multiple launch rocket systems, 3,452 field artillery guns and mortars and 6,316 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of their special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
