MOSCOW, October 6. /TASS/. Ukrainian intelligence asked the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant’s (NPP) former chief, Igor Murashov, for info on the station’s potential to withstand flooding, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together With Russia movement, told Russia’s Channel One TV on Thursday.
"Yes, that’s true. There was a direct question [to him from the Ukrainian side]. Murashov admitted this during an interrogation," Rogov said, responding to a question by the anchorperson about whether the Ukrainians had requested this particular piece of information from the Zaporozhye nuke plant’s ex-chief.
The nuke plant’s ex-boss could have cooperated with Ukrainian intelligence for various reasons, Rogov presumed.
"I do not know the reasons that made him interact with the Ukrainian security service: compromising materials, threats to relatives or for financial reasons. But the point is that this individual has overstepped his professional and moral capacities and interacted with people who directly unleash death, fear, suffering and threats against us," he emphasized.
The Zaporozhye plant has a designed capacity to withstand the consequences of such an act of sabotage, he said.
"But if flooding occurs, the station’s operational properties may be impaired. Therefore, it will be more difficult for us to restore electric power generation than in the current conditions," Rogov said.
Ukrainian intelligence certainly requested this information from Murashov at the direct behest if the Britons and Americans, he said.
Rogov reported on October 5 that the Ukrainian military had booby-trapped the Dnieper hydro power plant and five bridges across the Dnieper in the city of Zaporozhye back in March.
The Zaporozhye nuke plant’s ex-chief was banished to the Kiev-controlled zone after he confessed to cooperating with the Zelensky regime’s intelligence services.
