US supplies of weapons to Ukraine make military clash between Russia, NATO closer — MFA

As Konstantin Vorontsov said, Washington allocates huge amounts to Kiev for military needs alone

UNITED NATIONS, October 4. /TASS/. US supplies of weapons to Ukraine push the situation closer to the point of a direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO, Konstantin Vorontsov, a deputy director at the Russian Foreign Ministry’s department for arms nonproliferation and control, said at a UN meeting on Tuesday.

"The US is ramping up the efforts to funnel weapons into Ukraine, provides intelligence data to its military, gets their militants and advisers involved in the conflict, which not only extends the hostilities and causes new victims, but also pushes the situation closer to a dangerous point of a direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO," the diplomat said at a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly First Committee.

"Washington allocates huge amounts to Kiev for military needs alone. The US and its NATO allies strongly encourage the militaristic aspirations and revanchist sentiments of the Kiev regime, which no longer is hiding plans to reclaim the territories that were lost as a result of its destructive policy, as well as to use the long-range missiles that it requested from the US to strike deep inside Russia," Vorontsov said. "At the instigation of Washington, the military-political leadership of Ukraine started talking not only about the need to inflict a "defeat on the battlefield" on our country, but also to achieve, with the assistance of the West, its subsequent breakup and destruction."

According to the diplomat, Western politicians forbade Kiev to continue peace talks and made them latch on to the idea of an imminent victory.

"It’s on the conscience of the US and its allies that the flames of the Kiev regime's bloody massacre of its own citizens are being fanned," he said.
