MOSCOW, August 25. /TASS/. Russian troops destroyed two platoons of Grad multiple launch rocket systems in counter-battery fire in the past 24 hours in their special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Thursday.
"In counter-battery warfare, two platoons of Grad multiple launch rocket systems were incapacitated in the areas of the settlements of Artyomovskoye and Sukhaya Balka along with three platoons of D-30 howitzers at firing positions in the areas of Novgorodskoye, Vesyoloye and Yevgenovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
The Russian troops delivered a strike by an Iskander precision missile against a Ukrainian military train in the Dnepropetrovsk Region, eliminating over 200 reservists moving to Donbass, Konashenkov reported.
"A direct hit by an Iskander missile against a troop train at the Chaplino railway station in the Dnepropetrovsk Region eliminated over 200 reservists of the Ukrainian army and 10 pieces of military equipment bound for the Donbass combat area," the spokesman said.
The Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed a command post of the Ukrainian army’s Kakhovka battlegroup and over 60 militants in the Nikolayev Region in their special operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
"A precision strike by the Russian Aerospace Forces in the area of the settlement of Noviy Bug in the Nikolayev Region obliterated a command post of the Ukrainian army’s Kakhovka battlegroup, eliminating 64 militants and seven pieces of military equipment," the spokesman said.
Russian air defense forces shot down five Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and intercepted 19 HIMARS rockets in the past day in their special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
"Russian air defense capabilities shot down five unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Kamenka in the Kharkov Region, Urozhainoye, Vasilyevka and Zelyoniy Gai in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Kamysh Zarya in the Zaporozhye Region. They also intercepted nineteen shells of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system in the areas of the Kakhovka HPP, the cities of Kherson and Donetsk," the spokesman said.
The Russian troops crippled the workshops of a Ukrainian enterprise for the repair of armaments of armored fighting vehicles and multiple launch rocket systems, including foreign-made weapons, in the Khmelnitsky Region, Konashenkov reported.
"In the settlement of Shepetovka in the Khmelnitsky Region, precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces obliterated the workshops of the enterprise for the repair of the armaments of armored fighting vehicles and multiple launch rocket systems, including foreign-made weapons," the spokesman said.
The Russian forces continue striking Ukrainian defense industry enterprises for the repair of military hardware, the general added.
"In the city of Zaporozhye, the strikes destroyed the production workshops of the Iskra factory for the repair of air defense and counter-battery radars. The strikes also obliterated the production facilities of the Migremont aircraft repair plant engaged in repairing aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force," Konashenkov reported.
