Container with chemicals blown up at Kiev-controlled Azot plant in Severodonetsk

The Severodonetsk-based Azot plant is one of Ukraine’s biggest chemical works, employing around 7,000 people

LUGANSK, May 31. /TASS/. A container with chemicals has been blown up at the Azot chemical works in Severodonetsk, which is controlled by Ukrainian troops, Ambassador of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) Rodion Miroshnik said on Tuesday.

"A container with chemicals has been blown up at the Azot chemical works. The plant’s territory is still controlled by the Ukrainian regime’s armed units," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

LPR leader Leonid Pasechnik told TASS earlier that a third of Severodonetsk is already controlled by LPR forces.

The Severodonetsk-based Azot plant is one of Ukraine’s biggest chemical works, employing around 7,000 people. It manufactures acetic acid, methanol and vinyl acetate.
