MOSCOW, May 14. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold an annual meeting with experts from Russia’s Council of Foreign and Defense Policy on Saturday.
Every year, the council’s experts gather to discuss major foreign policy trends and challenges and Russia’s possible future steps.
"As usual, the meeting will bring together members of the academic and expert communities, diplomats, military officers, businessmen and journalists," the council said in a statement on the upcoming event. Geopolitical changes amid Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine are expected to be the focus of discussions. In addition, significant attention will be paid to the new economic situation created by Western sanctions on Russia.
The Council of Foreign and Defense Policy is a public organization that was established by a group of politicians, businessmen, public figures, researchers and journalists in Moscow in 1992. The organization's goal is to facilitate the development and implementation of Russia’s strategic development concepts and the country’s foreign and domestic policies, as well as to foster nation building and civil society.
