Russian Finance Minister calls to avoid politicization in G20

Anton Siluanov stressed that "the Group of Twenty has always been and remains the economic format in the first instance"

MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov urges partners in the Group of Twenty (G20) to avoid politicization of the dialog.

The Minister urges partners to avoid politicization of the dialog and stressed that "the Group of Twenty has always been and remains the economic format in the first instance," Siluanov said.

The increase in energy and agricultural products’ prices will mainly hit developing economies and countries with the low income level, the Minister said. "Against all odds, we never refused to honor our obligations and continue performing all the contract. It is obvious that the supply of such goods to the international market is limited artificially, provoking imbalance and the dramatic price growth," he noted.

Siluanov remotely attended the G20 meeting of finance ministers and governors of central banks, the Ministry said on Wednesday. The next meeting at the ministerial level will take place in June 2022.
