Russian MFA says EU diplomacy goes against interests of people in Europe

The ministry made the comments in a statement following remarks by top EU diplomat Josep Borrell after his trip to Ukraine

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. The Russian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday said EU’s current diplomacy goes against the interests of people in Europe that seek peace and stability.

The ministry made the comments in a statement following remarks by top EU diplomat Josep Borrell after his trip to Ukraine.

"The theses about the need for a political solution and in support of negotiations have disappeared from the EU vocabulary," the statement said. "It is clear why: A political solution will interfere with their main goal to continue the proxy war to the last Ukrainian."

"Such ‘diplomacy’ of the EU runs counter to the interests of the people of European countries that are striving for peace and stability, prevention of manifestations of Nazism and discrimination on our shared continent," the statement went on to say.
