MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested in the telephone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron that his counterpart proactively worked out the issue of humanitarian corridors for noncombatants and foreigners with Kiev authorities, the Kremlin’s press service said.
"The problem of noncombatants’ evacuation from regions of military clashes was discussed. Vladimir Putin drew attention to the fact that Kiev still does not perform agreements reached on the so acute humanitarian issue. In particular, despite the peace and quiet order announced by the Russian side on March 5 for the escape of noncombatants and foreign citizens from Mariupol and Volnovakha, Ukrainian nationalists prevented evacuation from these cities. They used the pause in combat operations to build up means and forces on their positions," the Kremlin said.
Putin suggested that Macron interacts with Kiev on humanitarian issues. "The proposal was made again to the President of France for active working with Kiev authorities for their compliance with norms of international humanitarian law," the press service said.
Nationalists prevent attempts of noncombatants to leave via humanitarian corridors, the Russian Defense Ministry said earlier.
