Russian delegation to arrive for talks with Ukraine later on Wednesday — Kremlin

The first round of talks took place in Belarus on February 28

MOSCOW, March 2. /TASS/. Russia’s delegation will arrive for the next round of talks with Ukraine’s representatives late in the afternoon on Wednesday, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Our delegation will be there late in the afternoon. [It will] wait for Ukrainian negotiators. Our delegation will be ready to continue the conversation tonight," he noted.

However, the Kremlin spokesman declined to clarify the location of the meeting.

Peskov pointed to "a certain element of contradictory information" in the media in relation to the talks.

According to TASS sources, the next round of talks between Russia and Ukraine will take place in Belovezhskaya Pushcha in Belarus.

Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky will remain the head of the Russian delegation at negotiations with Ukraine, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday. "Yes, he remains the chief negotiator," he said.

The first round of Russian-Ukrainian talks took place in the Gomel region of Belarus on February 28. According to Russian Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky, who headed Russia’s delegation, the parties "thoroughly discussed all issues on the agenda and found some points on which a common position is possible," and agreed to continue negotiations.
