MOSCOW, September 15. /TASS/. In light of the recent developments on the Korean Peninsula, Moscow is calling on the parties to show restraint and readiness to engage in dialogue, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said in a statement on Wednesday.

"There is no sensible alternative to the political and diplomatic settlement of regional problems. In this context, we are calling on all partners to demonstrate restraint and practically reaffirm their readiness to resume dialogue in line with the agreements achieved earlier and assumed obligations," she underlined.

On Wednesday, North Korea launched two ballistic missiles towards the Sea of Japan. On the same day, the Yonhap News Agency quoted the South Korean presidential administration as saying that it had carried out its first-ever test launch of a ballistic missile from a submarine.
