Russian Ambassador to North Korea Alexander Matsegora has conveyed a congratulatory message to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on the country’s national holiday, the Day of the Shining Star, or the birth anniversary of the country's second leader, Kim Jong-il (1942-2011), the Russian embassy said on its Facebook account.

"On February 11, Ambassador Alexander Matsegora along with the dean of the diplomatic corps in Pyonyang, Palestinian Ambassador Ismail Hassan visited the People’s Palace of Culture to hand over to a deputy head of the international department of the Central Committee of North Korea’s Workers’ Party a floral basket and a congratulatory message from the diplomatic corps to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on the widely celebrated holiday, the Day of the Shining Star (79th birth anniversary of Kim Jong-il)," it said.
