IRKUTSK, October 24. /TASS/. The Russian Emergencies Ministry's Irkutsk Region Main Directorate has completed work at the site of the Su-30 plane crash, investigative authorities are currently working there, the department’s press service told TASS on Monday.

"The Emergencies Ministry has now completed work at the crash site. Investigative bodies are already working there," the press service said, adding that the plane wreckage remains at the site in connection with the investigators' work.

A TASS correspondent from the scene specified that at the moment the fire trucks had left the site, while police officers still remained there. A helicopter is flying over the private sector where the crash occurred. Locals say that on Sunday, the Su-30 was flying over the houses for a long time. Then residents heard a loud sound and felt a shaking comparable to the aftermath of an earthquake.

The Su-30 aircraft fell on Sunday on a two-story residential building in the private sector of Irkutsk. According to the Defense Ministry, the plane crashed because one of the engines caught fire during the climb. As a result, a fire broke out on an area of 200 square meters, it was extinguished. Two pilots died, there were no victims among the residents as there were no residents in the house at the time of the crash. The Leninsky district of the city declared the state of emergency. A criminal case was initiated.
