Israeli airstrikes on eastern Syria leaves 57 dead, reports say

MOSCOW, January 13. /TASS/. /TASS/. The number of victims in the airstrikes by Israel on east Syria has increased to 57, Al Arabiya TV reported Wednesday, citing the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights center.

Earlier reports suggested 40 people were killed.

According to the organization, the Israeli Air Force carried out a series of attacks on weapon warehouses and military positions near Deir ez-Zor on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

The Israeli Defense Forces earlier refused to comment on the reports of airstrikes on Syria.
