MOSCOW, October 19. /TASS/. The Russian business community's initiative to fund the development of new air defense systems to protect industrial facilities has not been discussed in detail by the Kremlin, as it falls under the purview of the Russian government, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing.
"This has not been discussed in any substantive way, but it is certainly a matter for the Cabinet of Ministers, for the government," the Kremlin spokesman said when asked about the initiative.
Earlier, Alexander Shokhin, the presidential commissioner for entrepreneurs' rights and head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, told TASS in an interview that Russian businesses were ready to "chip in" and finance new air defense systems to protect industrial sites. He suggested that such efforts could be incentivized through an investment tax deduction.
