Russia's total trade turnover in January-June 2026 increased by 11.4% year-on-year, reaching $365.6 billion

MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. Russia's foreign trade surplus for January-June 2026 increased by 13.98% year-on-year to $73.4 billion, according to data from the Federal Customs Service of Russia posted on its official website.

In the reporting period, exports rose by $23.2 billion to $219.5 billion, while imports grew by $14.2 billion to $146.1 billion. Consequently, Russia's total trade turnover in January-June 2026 increased by 11.4% year-on-year, reaching $365.6 billion.

Foreign trade by country

According to the Federal Customs Service, Russian exports to European countries fell by 5.6% to $28 billion, while imports rose by 8.7% to $37.1 billion. At the same time, Russia boosted exports to Asian countries by 17.2% to $174.9 billion, while imports from these countries grew by 12.6% to $98.9 billion.

Exports to African countries edged up by 1.1% to $10.7 billion, whereas imports shrank by 9.9% to $2.2 billion.

Russian exports to North and South America dropped by 12.1% to $5.7 billion, while imports from these countries rose by 4.6% to $7.9 billion.

Export and import structure

Mineral products accounted for the largest share of Russia's exports during the reporting period, totaling $120.7 billion (up 9.1%). The second-largest category was metals and metal products, with exports surging by 40.1% to $40.1 billion. Agricultural products ranked third at $22.4 billion (up 25.9%).

Machinery, equipment, and vehicles remained Russia's largest import item, increasing by 12.4% in January-June to $70.9 billion. Chemical products followed with a 10.1% increase to $29.4 billion, while agricultural imports grew by 5.8% to $22 billion.
