MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. Russia continues negotiations with several countries on the joint development and production of aircraft, including fifth-generation aircraft, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) told TASS at the 1st International Security Forum.
"The development of complex aircraft systems is a multi-year process that includes not only R&D but also the approval of a large number of parameters. This primarily concerns the distribution of competencies, funding levels, approaches to intellectual property, production cooperation, and subsequent maintenance. Negotiations with individual countries are currently ongoing," the FSMTC stated in response to a corresponding question.
The FSMTC emphasized that "all decisions are made with a long-term perspective in mind, as such projects must be mutually beneficial and economically viable."
The 1st International Security Forum is being held under the auspices of the Russian Security Council from May 26-29 in the Moscow Region at the Live Arena and Patriot Park venues.
