TBILISI, May 25. /TASS/. Georgia exported 382.6 metric tons of cosmetics to Russia from January through April, exceeding the cumulative volume supplied over the previous 17 years, according to data from Georgia’s National Statistics Office analyzed by TASS.
According to the agency, Georgia began supplying makeup and skincare products to Russia in significant volumes in May last year, when exports totaled 21.1 metric tons. In September 2025, shipments reached a record 75 metric tons, followed by 70.3 metric tons in December and 162.3 metric tons in January of this year.
Thus, in 2025 Georgia exported 203.1 metric tons of cosmetics to Russia worth $427,900, while in the first four months of this year exports already reached 382.6 metric tons worth $680,900. According to data available on the statistics office’s website dating back to 2009, cumulative cosmetics exports to Russia before 2026 totaled 319.6 metric tons.
Overall, Georgia exported 450.6 metric tons of cosmetics worth $7.6 mln to global markets this year. Although Russia accounted for 84.9% of the total export volume, Georgia earned the same amount or even more from sales to a number of other countries. For example, only 21 metric tons were sold to Armenia, but for a total of $957,100, while exports to Hong Kong amounted to 9.6 metric tons worth $2.4 mln. Exports to Denmark totaled just 1.1 metric tons, though sales revenue reached $684,800.
