Russian software exports to grow by 15% in 2026 — expert

President of the Russoft association Valentin Makarov noted that further dynamics would depend on state policy

NOVOSIBIRSK, May 13. /TASS/. The volume of Russian software exports will increase by 15% in 2026, continuing positive growth for the second consecutive year, President of the Russoft association Valentin Makarov told TASS.

"My forecast is an increase from 10-14% [in 2025] to 15%, and growth will continue to accelerate," he said.

Makarov noted that further dynamics would depend on state policy. "So far, exports of computer services are not a priority of any national development program. If there is no state regulation supporting exports of computer services, then we will not see such significant growth," the expert believes. Stronger growth would be ensured by recognizing exports of domestic industry products as a key area for promoting Russia as one of the technological leaders.

Exports of domestic software returned to positive growth in 2025 for the first time since 2022. According to various estimates, growth amounted to around 10-14% after declines of 30% and 50% in previous years.
