SCO developing possibility of creating venture funds — secretary-general

Nurlan Yermekbayev said the plan is to organize a specialized SCO Invest platform which will be dedicated to expanding investment cooperation between the organization’s member states and partners

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is considering the creation of a network of venture companies and funds, SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev said.

"Among the promising initiatives currently being developed is the creation of a network of venture capital companies and funds, as well as a specialized electronic portal for developing business contacts," he told a forum.

It is planned to organize a specialized SCO Invest platform which will be dedicated to expanding investment cooperation between the organization’s member states and partners during the Tashkent International Investment Forum in June, Yermekbayev added. "We believe representatives of the Commonwealth of Independent States could also take an active part in it," he said.
