Drone strikes on Nakhichevan impact transportation along North-South corridor

Alexey Overchuk said the strikes "did not inspire confidence among investors looking to invest in the restoration of the Meghri section"

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Drone strikes on Nakhichevan in early March immediately impacted transportation along the North-South corridor, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said in an interview with TASS.

"Drone strikes on the territory of Nakhichevan immediately impacted transportation along the North-South International Transport Corridor and did not inspire confidence among investors looking to invest in the restoration of the Meghri section," he said.

On March 5, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported the crash of two drones launched from Iranian territory near Nakhichevan Airport. The airport building was damaged, and two people were injured. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry noted that Baku reserved the right to retaliate. In turn, the Iranian General Staff denied the launch of UAVs into Azerbaijani territory, blaming Israel for the incident.
