MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS/. Russia lowered fish and seafood imports from India by 10% annually in physical terms to 20,000 metric tons the Fish Union told TASS.
"Russian imports of fish and seafood from India declined in 2024 against record high year of 2023 by 10% in terms of the weight to 20,000 metric tons and dropped by 20% in cash to $130 mln," the association said.
Imports of frozen Whiteleg shrimps, which are the key item of Indian deliveries to Russia, contracted by 10% in physical terms to 18,000 metric tons and by 15% in money terms to $120 mln. Imports of frozen cooked Whiteleg shrimps by Russia fell by 50% in physical terms last year to 0.5 thousand metric tons.
Russia is also importing from India small volumes of Tiger prawns, mince, lobsters, octopus and cuttlefish, the union said.
