MOSCOW, January 21. /TASS/. Russia’s foreign debt amounted to $290.4 bln as of January 1, 2025, which is 8.7% (or $27.5 bln) lower than in early 2024, according to files released by the Central Bank.
"Dynamics of the indicator was driven by a decline of debts on sovereign securities denominated both in national and foreign currencies, as well as a decrease in liabilities of other sectors on credits and loans borrowed, including with the framework of direct investments," the regulator said.
As of January 1, 2024, Russia’s foreign debt amounted to $317.89 bln.
