Wine exports from Georgia to Russia rise 11% in January-November 2024

TBILISI, December 19. /TASS/. Georgia exported nearly 64,600 metric tons of wine to Russia from January to November of this year, marking a 10.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to data provided by the National Statistics Service of Georgia.

Georgia exported 64,590 metric tons of wine valued at $176.2 million to Russia during the reporting period, the service reported. Exports in the same period last year totaled 58,270 metric tons worth $157.5 million. The total value of Georgia’s wine deliveries to other countries amounted to $262.3 million, representing 4.4% of all exports.

Meanwhile, exports of mineral water, as well as carbonated drinks containing sugar, to Russia saw an increase of 10.8%, reaching about 197,400 tons. Imports of goods from Russia to Georgia totaled $1.63 billion in January-November, reflecting a 2.9% rise compared to the same period last year. The import of oil and petroleum products stood at 629,500 tons, worth $471.6 million, a decrease of 12.7%. Purchases of wheat and meslin surged by 53.8% to 299,200 tons.
