MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. Russia is ready to increase supplies of mineral fertilizers and aluminum products to India after reaching an agreement with Indian partners on import tariffs reduction, Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach said during the plenary session of the 15th India-Russia business dialog.
"We have the dialog with our Indian partners on import tariffs in respect of a certain range of our products. If we reach understanding in respect of mineral fertilizers, lumber and aluminum products and achieve the possibility of reducing the general tariff threshold, then we will be able to scale up deliveries of these important groups of goods," the official said. "This is because the demand is growing and Russian products as regards this range is distinctive for high quality and competitive price. It is very important for us that the dialog we carried during this year and the last year ended with mutually beneficial agreements on import tariff lowering. We are ready to meet fertilizer demands for India if we manage to agree on important tariffs," the official noted.
The mutual trade turnover between the two countries is planned to be increased to $100 bln, Volvach added.
"Our mutual trade was about $46.5 bln in January - September of this year. It grew by 15% annually. This is the good and stable growth of our trade. It is diversifying indeed. Our exports are growing, which is very important. Imports from India remain at a high level, and also with the very broad range of goods, work, and services," he noted.
