Russia preparing to sign program on boosting trade with Uzbekistan

The sides agreed to submit the draft of the new roadmap for the signing by co-chairs of the future intergovernmental commission

MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. Russia and Uzbekistan plan to sign a draft program on boosting mutual trade, Russian Economic Development Minister Maksim Reshetnikov said following an online meeting attended by Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov.

The parties discussed preparation of the roadmap on boosting trade and considered the main sections of the future document, including its industrial, energy, transport, agriculture and fiscal-banking parts, having agreed to submit the draft of the new roadmap for the signing by co-chairs of the future intergovernmental commission.

"Considering the task of increasing trade to $30 bln by 2030 set by presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan, we see the trade roadmap itself as a comprehensive document that will become a practical supplement to the main protocol of the intergovernmental commission," Reshetnikov was quoted as saying by the ministry’s press service. "It is necessary to organize the events of the roadmap in such a way as to facilitate an increase in Russian exports to Uzbekistan by 2.7 times to $18.2 bln on the one hand, and growth of Uzbek exports to Russia by 3.6 times to $11.8 bln on the other hand," he said.
