MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. The exchange rate export duty on coking coal will be abolished in Russia from December 1, 2024, and the moratorium on zero duty on power generation coal and anthracite will be extended. The corresponding government resolution was published last Friday.
The decision is aimed at supporting companies in the coal industry.
"The duty on coking coal will be abolished as of December 1, 2024. The moratorium on duties on coal and anthracite used for power generation will be extended until the end of 2024. From January 1, 2025, duties on anthracite, coking coal and power-generating coal will be abolished," the Russian government said.
Flexible export duties on anthracite, thermal, and coking coal will be in effect from October 1, 2023, then they will be suspended for anthracite and thermal coal from May 1 to November 30, 2024.
